| Seminal DJ Releases First Mix Album in Nearly Three Years. Double CD Features

DJ,
producer and master remixer Paul Oakenfold has announced the release
of Perfecto Presents...Paul Oakenfold: Great Wall, a
deluxe double mix CD recorded live at the Great Wall of China.
Released
September 30 on Thrive/Sire/Reprise Records and featuring the Oakenfold
single "Hypnotized," Perfecto Presents...Paul Oakenfold: Great
Wall spotlights a nineteen track journey through current and
future dance floor classics, including remixes of Bjork's "Pagan Poetry" and
Dave Gahan's "Dirty Sticky Floors." Paul Oakenfold contributes his aforementioned
single, "Hypnotised," along with his remixes of Madonna's "Hollywood" and
Layo & Bushwacka!'s breakbeat anthem "Deep South." Extended
remixes of key Great Wall tracks are also being made
available in a six-sided vinyl edition.
Oakenfold's
Great Wall concert was held on April 19, 2003 and followed an extensive
round of touring throughout the country over the past six years, including
appearances in Guangxi, Shan Xian, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. It
took over a year of intensive negotiations with the Chinese government
to arrange the concert at the world famous site, which took place in
the midst of a rainstorm.
"I
had six hours of music," Oakenfold remarks, "and moved it around from
trance to progressive to breaks to house and the crowd just followed.
I took them on a musical journey and they went with me."
